Lyn Yates is a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor Emerita of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, University of Melbourne. Lyn was previously the lead investigator of the SOCEY-affiliated Curriculum Policies Project, and has undertaken a number of major projects concerned with Australian education, the changing policy and social environment, and the formation, inequalities and potential of young people. Following the Curriculum Policies Project, Lyn carried out a further project looking more closely at current debates about knowledge and twenty-first- century skills, and the role of history and physics today. Lyn is now semi-retired and not available for supervision, but is still very much interested in research and SOCEY projects. She is currently working on a research project, Literary Knowledge, related to literary studies and the education experience of young people.
