Jo Higginson is a PhD candidate and sessional teacher at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. Her PhD project explores the views, experiences and imagined futures of senior secondary students attending Victorian government secondary schools and those of their parents, whose family life and educational experience encompass both Australian and other national settings. The analysis is informed by critical engagement with social and cultural theories and commentary on globalisation and education in globalising times. Jo has previously worked as a secondary school teacher and in policy and project roles within the Commonwealth and Victorian state governments, the City of Melbourne and the community legal sector.
