Hernán Cuervo is an Associate Professor at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and the Deputy Director of the Youth Research Centre, in the University of Melbourne. His research interests focus on youth studies, the nexus of education and work in young people’s transitions to adulthood, on rural education and theory of justice. Hernán’s methodological expertise is in qualitative and longitudinal panel research studies, including projects such as Life Patterns. He has published extensively in education research, youth studies and sociology journals (e.g. Discourse, International Journal of Inclusive Education, Journal of Youth Studies, Young, Current Sociology, Journal of Sociology). His latest books are: Understanding social justice in rural education (Palgrave, 2016) and Youth, Inequality and Social Change in the Global South (Springer, 2019). He is currently the co-editor of Springer’s Youth Perspectives book series.
